Jeep Wrangler YJ
I’ve had my 4 cylinder 1993 Jeep Wrangler as a daily driver for more than 10 years. It has pretty much stayed stock all these years. She’s in need of some TLC now. I don’t do anything more than some urban offroading, curbs, construction sites and anything else that falls in the road (swerving to miss something is overrated).
< $880 Project
The traditional budget that people will do is a nice even number like $1000. I’m just a regular guy, what I have to spare is $880.
Stage 1 – Fix what’s broken
There are a couple of things that need to be fixed before any upgrades are done.
| Rebuild the rear drum brakes | $134.89 | |
| Replace a snapped off turn signal lever | $ | |
| Replace a bad muffler | $84.96 | |
| Patch up ripped seats | $40.00 |
Stage 2 – Suspension Replacement
I don’t want to raise the vehicle that much, its already a wall when driving it on the freeway.
| Installing a Black Diamond 1.5″ lift kit | $ |
Stage 3 – Engine Upgrades (maybe)
What’s left after stages 1 and 2 will go towards some performance upgrades.
| Swapping the throttle body using a 4.0 engine throttle body | $ | |
| Making a cold air intake | $ |
