Cheap Bathroom Redo
We wanted to change the look of a bathroom with minimal money. Of course this meant painting and reusing as many of the existing elements.

To Do List

This is a list of small and large fixes and projects that I need to do. I’m almost afraid to see how many things need to be done. If I don’t have a list to work off of I’ll keep walking by something and say, “I really need to fix that.” As things get done, I’ll add links to the posting.

Master Bathroom

Master Bedroom

  • Switch sliding closet doors to french doors
  • Build closet organization system

Upstairs Guest Bathroom

  • Fix wall texture
  • Raise drop ceiling

Second Floor Hall

  • Replace current lights with pot lights

First Floor General

  • Spray texture on the ceiling in the downstairs entry way

Living Room

  • Fix moulding around windows
  • Take down wallpaper
  • Patch holes in drywall
  • Paint fireplace
  • Scrape popcorn ceiling and spray new texture

Library

  • Popcorn Ceiling Removal
  • Design and build bookshelves
  • Paint room
  • Hang light fixture

Wet Bar

  • Scrape popcorn ceiling and spray new texture
  • Build and replace cabinets
  • Make and install concrete counter top
  • Install new fixtures and sink
  • Replace existing light fixture with pot light

Kitchen

  • Raise ceiling
  • Install replacement lights for existing fluorescent ones
  • Build and replace cabinetry

Laundry Room

  • Change cabinets to open shelf storage
  • Paint
  • Install tile floor
  • Fix washer and dryer circuit

Garage

  • Patch any holes
  • Paint walls
  • Epoxy floors
