Tools
It’s always nice to have the right tool for the job, but at the same time I don’t like to waste money on something I’ll use once. These are tools I’ve used in projects, ones I just want to show off and others I just want to have.
Tools I Own
Porter Cable Pancake Air Compressor – Mine is definitly not this clean. I purchased it for about $200 new a couple years ago. It’s been invaluable on moulding installation and spraying ceiling texture.
Delta TS350 – I purchased this clearanced at Lowes for around $300. Unfortunately I’ve only had the chance to use it a couple of times since last Christmas.

Software
Why does software belong in a tool section? It is really important to research, plan, organize, visualize and document projects.
QCad – computer aided drafting in two dimensions (2d). QCad works on Windows, Mac OS X and many Linux and Unix Systems. I’m using the QCad community edition is released under the GPL (Open Source). The community edition is free with Ubuntu.
Free Online Graph Paper Generator – I like to use graph paper to sketch out my ideas on. I use this site to customize the paper scale to the project I’m sketching.

Tools I Would Like To Have
Delta Universal Mobile Base – I would love not to have to get another person to move my table saw into place. Just add hardwood rails to carry up to 300 pounds; easy bolt-together design; foot-operated raising and lowering.
