Custom Paint On Bulgarian and Romanian AK Rifles- Part 2

This is a continuation of a post my friend gave me on the custom paint he did on his AK rifles. On one of them he did a camouflage snakeskin and the other was ghosted skulls. The first post covered preparing the guns for paint and applying the bake on Gun Kote finish.

The next step is to apply my camo jobs. Now I could use more KG Gun Kotes but I have paint job ADD and I seems to repaint them all the time. So I decided to use rattle can so I can easily strip it and repaint another camo job if I want. Brake cleaner will remove the acrylic / enamel paint but not the Gun Kote.

The Romanian gets hot fishnet stocking treatment using camouflage paint colors.

Rattle canned. Use vertical sweeps on a slight angle with the paint.

Apply 2 coats of the paint.

The fishnet stocking leaves a snake skin looking camouflage pattern.

The other side is done just like above.

The Bulgarian gets the skull treatment, this is inspired by ghost flames from hot rods and I used mini screamin skullz stencils with a tan color that is barely off from the Gun Kote Flat Desert Sand color.

When you do any stencil work just remember you need to work backwards.

Couldn’t do it on barrels and other parts because they are too thin, but I was able to put the skull stencils on the muzzle brake.

3 coats of flat clear were applied to both the Romanian and Bulgarian AKs.

The end result after both rifles were fully reassembled.
