This is my third time going to World of Concrete. I went the first time because I was interested in doing concrete counter tops. Well, I never got the OK from the boss to do that project, but I’ve been hooked on the convention since.
WOC always has industry oriented contests like the Spec Mix Bricklayer 500, where 20 teams compete for title of “World’s Best Bricklayer”.
Inside the three convention areas have vendors for everything from safety equipment, sealants, glass aggregates, forms, insulated concrete forms (ICF), huge concrete cutting blades and concrete pumping trucks.
Inside has some cool stuff, but outside is where you get to try the tools out. There are most major tool manufacturers like Bosch, DeWALT, Makita and Hilti. There aren’t just concrete and masonry related power tools. I got to scope out some of the new 18 volt lithium ion cordless drills from DeWALT. The weight is about 1/3 that of the NiCad equivalent.
I’m sifting through all the product information I got today and will post up some of the products that the do it yourself person will be more interested in. I know we all would like a 4 foot concrete saw blade but where would you store it?

hm… thank you
